Junior Winter Competition

  • Registrations for the Winter Season open in late December or early January each year. Notifications are shared via email, newsletter, Instagram, and Facebook.

    Coaching Program (U10–U14)

    Paid coaching is available for all junior teams U10–U14 this season.

    All coaches operate under the Australian Netball Pathway, using age-appropriate, best-practice skill development methods. Coaches hold official accreditation and work under the guidance of our Coaching Directors, including regular feedback sessions and player progress reporting.

    A coaching fee applies for players in U10–U14, in addition to registration fees.

    Active Kids Rebate

    Active Kids vouchers are accepted for school-aged children and can be used toward Winter Competition registration fees.

    Vouchers must be obtained before registering and applied during the PlayHQ checkout process.
    Further details are available via the NSW Government Active Kids program.

    Pre-Season Training

    Mosman Netball offers pre-season training opportunities to all registered players, including sessions led by the Directors of Coaching.

    These sessions are designed to prepare players for grading, refresh key skills, and introduce club expectations.
    There is no additional cost, and all registered players are welcome.

    Key Pre-Season Sessions:

    Monday 16th of February – Wake Up Netball

    • U10: 4:00–5:15pm
    • U11: 5:15–6:30pm

    Wednesday 4th of March – Wake Up Netball

    • U12: 4:30–6:00pm
    • U13–U15: 5:30–7:00pm

    Grading (Compulsory)

    All junior players must attend grading. Players must be registered and paid to participate.

    Grading Dates:

    Sunday 22nd of February

    • U10: 10:45am – 12:00pm
    • U11: 12:30 – 2:30pm
    • U12: 3:00 – 5:00pm

    Sunday 1st of March

    • U11: G1 = 10.45am – 1.00pm
      U11: G2= 12.30pm – 3.00pm

    • U12: G1 = 4.00pm – 5.30pm
      U12: G2 = 5.00pm – 6.30pm

    Sunday 8th of March

    • U13-15: 1.00pm – 3:00pm
    • Intermediate: 3:00 – 5:00pm

    Team Announcements

    Teams will be announced via email following completion of grading.

    Week of 16th of March – Final Grades Confirmed

    Season Kick-Off

    Saturday 14th of March – Season Kick-Off, Kit Collection & Welcome BBQ

    This family event marks the official start of the season.

    At this event:

    • Meet your team
    • Confirm Team Manager and Coach roles (U13–U15)
    • Collect kit bags (balls, bibs, first aid, code of conduct)
    • Receive training shirts
    • View uniforms for sizing

    Training

    Winter training commences immediately after team announcements.

    Training is age-based, with schedules published on the Club Calendar.

    Competition Information

    Competition hosted by Northern Suburbs Netball Association (NSNA)

    Season runs late March / early April to September

    14 rounds plus finals (excluding school holidays)

    Match times remain consistent each week

    Games played at Bicentennial Courts, Willoughby

    Game Days:

    • U10–U12 (B–G grades): Friday afternoons/evenings (4:30–7:45pm)
    • U12 A Grade and older: Saturday mornings

    Important: Playing netball and hockey concurrently is not recommended due to regular scheduling conflicts. Families typically choose one winter sport per season.
